Hi friends!
This week’s listener question comes from Rick, who asked: “How do you talk about the weather in Chinese?” So the next time someone asks, “天气怎么样?” (tiān qì zěn me yàng?), or what’s the weather like, you’ll have lots of ways to answer!
I find it funny that in Chinese, the phrase 聊天 (liáo tiān) literally means “chatting about the sky” but the real meaning is chitchat or casual conversation. Just like how in English we “make small talk” by talking about the weather too.
Got a question? Quick, tell me! Question slots are filling up.
Have a great week!
